The well-planned OP wing provides a quality out patient care. The Revised National Tuberculosis Control Programme run by the department provides free sputum examination and treatment for all Tuberculosis Patients attending the hospital.

The department runs an asthma clinic daily. Patients suffering from asthma are informed about agents, preventive and curative aspects of asthma and other allergies. Aerosol with Dry powder inhaler, Metered dose inhaler, usage of spacers and Nebulisers are demonstrated.

There are facilities for in-patient care for all respiratory ailments including therapeutic thoracentesis for pleural effusions, Intercostal tube drainages for Pneumothorax, hydro Pneumothorax and Empyema, Critical care and Ventilatory support for respiratory failures.

Respiratory diseases like Pneumonia, Bronchial Asthma, Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, Br.Carcinoma, Tropical pulmonary eosinophilia, Complicated cases of Tuberculosis, Pleural effusion, Empyema, Pneumothorax, Obstructive sleep apnea, Occupational lung diseases etc. are managed by this department with good results.
